# Slack Integration

> Connect Corsa to your Slack workspace so your team receives direct-message notifications for case assignments, alert assignments, mentions, and more.

The Slack integration connects Corsa to your Slack workspace via OAuth. Once connected, Corsa sends direct messages to your team members when they are assigned to alerts or cases, mentioned, or receive new comments and replies — without leaving Slack.

## How It Works

1. **OAuth connection** — A platform owner authorizes Corsa to post messages to your Slack workspace. No tokens or webhook URLs need to be copied manually.
2. **Email matching** — Corsa identifies each team member's Slack account by matching their Corsa email address to their Slack profile. No additional mapping is required.
3. **Direct messages** — Notifications arrive as DMs from the Corsa bot. Each message includes a link to open the relevant alert, case, or record directly in Corsa.

## What gets notified

Once connected, Corsa delivers Slack DMs for the following events:

| Event | Recipient |
| ---------------------------------- | -------------- |
| Alert assigned or reassigned | Assignee |
| Case assigned or reassigned | Assignee |
| Reviewer assigned or reassigned | Reviewer |
| Mentioned in a note or comment | Mentioned user |
| New note or note reply | Participants |
| New comment or comment reply | Participants |
| Attachment added | Participants |
| Customer replied to a conversation | Assigned user |
| Form submitted by a client | Assigned user |

## Prerequisites

* Owner access to the Corsa platform.
* Admin permission in your Slack workspace, or the ability to request app approval from a Slack workspace admin.

## Setting up the Slack integration

1. Log in to Corsa as the platform owner.
2. Go to **Developers Hub → Integrations**.
3. Find the **Slack** card and click **Configure**.
4. Click **Add to Slack**.
5. Review the requested permissions and click **Allow** to authorize Corsa in your Slack workspace.
6. You are redirected back to Corsa. The Slack card status updates to **Connected**.

<Note>
If your Slack workspace requires admin approval for new apps, the integration
enters a **Pending** state after authorization. Once a workspace admin approves
the Corsa app, the integration activates automatically. You can return to the
Slack card and retry if the approval takes time.
</Note>

## Enabling Slack notifications

Connecting the integration does not automatically send notifications to all users. Notification delivery is controlled by platform defaults and individual user preferences.

* **Platform default** — Go to **Settings → Platform Configurations** and enable Slack under **Notification Channels** to turn on Slack notifications for all users by default.
* **Per-user** — Each user can enable or disable Slack notifications independently from **Settings → Notifications**.

See [Notification Channels](/notifications/channels) for a full overview of how platform defaults and user overrides interact.
